Leadership is… complicated.

Figuring out what to do in complex situations, when problems are coming at you from every corner, is an integral part of being a leader.

So is getting people on the same page and working towards the same objectives. Not to mention picking the right team to surround yourself with, mentoring other leaders, dealing with a variety of stakeholders, and setting the tone of the organisation.

Shaping culture while upholding core values. Holding others to account, while being accountable yourself. All this in service of driving the organisation forward, to achieve big goals and an inspiring vision. Oh, yes, let’s not forget creating shareholder value if you are leading a for-profit business.

There is a lot going on in your head as you are trying to balance often conflicting interests. You are certainly not alone.
